Artist Statement      shorehouse@aol.com

As an artist, I generally start with
the concept (memory, change,
freedom, loss) and let the materials
guide me from there.  I work
primarily in natural and manmade
fiber but also recycle or transform
found objects such as appointment
books, maps and clothing into new
entities.  Presently, I am involved in
taking a closer look at look at environmental and political issues, which are ever-present in our world, but because of their very omnipresence, can numb us to their existence.
